Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam

” She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. ” (Proverbs 31: 20-21)

Martha Mariam Samajam is the women’s wing of St. Peters Church and is one of the major spiritual organizations consisting of all the female members of our church.  It is a vibrant association of our women that depends on the intercession of Holy and Ever Virgin Saint Mary, the Mother of our Lord.

Though it was only recently that the idea of organizing women for spiritual and social progress came into the forefront, the Samajam has taken creative steps towards achieving its goals.   The  Samajam’s mandate rests not only with conducting meetings and prayers on Sundays but also making members ever more loyal to the faith and practices of the church.  We believe, a strong and well organized Samajam would be able to help our Church and the society in several ways.

Involvement in helping the needy and less fortunate of the society in Kerala, involvement in the choir, involvement in serving lunch after the Sunday service etc. are few of the activities our Samajam is currently taking care of. As we look forward to implementing new ideas for the spiritual and social development of our women, we continue to pray to God to give us wisdom and strength for making those dreams a reality.  We do believe that all our deeds are to glorify God.
