For more information please click here.February 22, 2004Founding of the Church at AntiochToday we celebrate the founding of the Church at Antioch by St. Peter the apostle in 37 AD. The Church was initially established in Jerusalem after the death and resurrection of Our Lord. St. Peter then went on to Antioch and established the Church there as well. Later in 325 AD at the Council of Nicea, Antioch along with Rome and Alexandria were recognized by the entire Christian world to be the first Patriarchates.
